Katy Perry Explains Her Viral Twitching Moment on the Vegas Stage

Katy Perry claims her eyes are alright after being the subject of a viral moment.

The “Roar” singer, 38, was singing during her Play Las Vegas residency on Sunday evening when her eye began to twitch when she paused during her performance.

As she posed in her attire constructed of soda cans and pop tabs, the singer’s left eye began to close on its own, causing her to try to correct it while her right eye continued to blink.

In a video of the incident taken by a Perry fan website, the singer maintains her cool while telling ecstatic concertgoers, “Make even more noise for my band.”

Perry laughed off the situation days later, using the opportunity to promote more forthcoming play events at Resorts World Theatre in 2023.

Perry shared the popular video on TikTok, commenting over it, “POV: when you see new 2023 PLAY dates

“Welcoming all my # flatearthers # spaceisfakers # birdsarentrealers # skyisntbluers to come see my broken doll eye party trick IRL in Vegas next year!” she added on Instagram.

The Grammy-nominated performer wrote, “The show’s set list is a fun 🎒 through memory lane going all the way back to 2008, a time when we weren’t all frozen by the paranoia of our own echo chambers! πŸ€ΈπŸ»β€β™€οΈ.”

“This performance is a continual party about discovering unconditional love that is curiously (for me) not political at all; indeed, I even pour beer out of my tits (that’s a party trick as well… I don’t actually lactate hops, you idiot!) I want to sing with you in 2023! And we’ll drink, since we’re all #chainedtothealgorithm #therealproblemlolhaha.”

The 2023 leg begins on February 15 and concludes on April 15. Perry’s residency began in December 2021.

Perry announced her event on Good Morning America at the time, saying that she’ll be playing amid enormous, colorful visuals such as a pink and yellow checkerboard stage, a massive rubber duck, and a larger-than-life toilet and plunger.

“A lot of my shows have been figuratively larger than life, but I play a doll in this show, so everything is like, three times the size of me,” she explained. “It’s like Honey I Shrunk the Kids meets Pee-Playhouse, wee,” but we knew who we were talking to. People come here to have a good time and let free. ”

Tickets for Perry’s 2023 Play tour will go on sale on November 4 at 10 a.m. PT.
